Tarutao parc is declared national marine parc in 1974. It’s the oldest marine park of Thailand. It’s situated in South Andaman Sea, near the Malaysia border.
It consists in an archipelago of several islands of which the most known are Koh Lipe, Koh Butang. Koh Adang and Koh Rawui. Waters are there clear and one finds reefs rich in corals of all kinds, as well as multitude of species of tropical fishes. Dolphins can be spotted, as well as some rare dugongs.
Koh Lipe offers many dive sites of which Eight Miles Rock, known for its whale shark, mantas and oceanic shark’s passages.
Overnight is advised to explore all the dive sites of Tarutao Park. Longer cruises will take you to Hin Daeng, Hin Muang and Phi Phi.
