Solmar V is a luxurious 37 meters (112 ft) steel boat sailing for diving cruise in Socorro and Guadalupe since 1992.
She welcomes 22 passengers in comfortable and cosy AC cabins, all with a bottom double bed and a single upper bed, ensuite bathroom with hot water and shower. Two different cabins are available. Superior cabins are located on lower deck in middle and front, as Standard cabins, slightly smaller, are at the back of same deck.
You will spend lot of your free time on upper deck which has been specially fitted out to make your free time enjoyable. It’s composed of diving deck, with camera table in the middle and plenty of room to get prepared for your dive without elbowing, and indoor AC salon which is a great place to enjoy delicious western and mexican meals. At the back of dining area, is a small multimedia corner with computer and a library.
Also a large deck with sun loungers and its removable awning is ideal for relaxing in shade or drink a cocktail after your amazing diving day.
Nitrox is available and Nitrox course can be followed. Rental diving equipment is possible if booked in advance. Water entering is done from boat or from tender boat. You will be supervised by 3 professional English speaking dive instructors and who have an excellent knowledge of Socorro dive sites.
At Guadalupe island, the cage diving is at its most exciting using surface supplied air (hooka) instead of scuba tanks. Therefore, it’s not necessary to be a certified diver in order to participate in these trips. For scuba divers, diving in submersible cage is offered below 20ft from the surface. Two divers per cage are escorted by one divemaster during 20 minutes.
Solmar V is a Panamanian flagged vessel and meets US coast guard safety standards. The captain and engineer are graduates from the 4 year merchant marine academy in Mazatlan and regular emergency procedures are praticed with all crew. Solmar V is equipped with the lattest modern navigation devices (radars, GPS, satellite phones, VHF & SSB radios, depth sounder..), 18 fire extinguishers, 40 life jackets, 2 fire hoses, 8 life rings, certified life boats (2-20 man), oxygen and first aid kits.
